Boy Scout Troop 228 Thunderbird Parent ( Current & Alumni) Picnic @  "The Proving Grounds"

Posted on Oct 26 2017 - 3:45pm

Boy Scout Troop 228 Thunderbird Parent ( Current & Alumni) Picnic @  "The Proving Grounds"

Boy Scout Troop 228 Thunderbirds: (Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venture Scouts) past and present!

It is our intention to roast a pig at the annual LARPing event this year @ the Proving Grounds. We estimate having diner ready between 1600-1700 hours on Sat Nov 4th at the Proving Grounds.

The Scouts will be busy with the LARPing activities (Live Action Role Play).   Depending on the weather, some of the Adults will likely be working on Camp improvements such as road improvements, firewood re-supply, etc.    We invite the Thunderbirds alumni and current Troop parents to hang-out at the campfire and relax and enjoy the food and companionship.

If you have not been to the Proving Grounds lately, you should join us to see all the improvements; Kelley Pavilion, Tree-House Adirondack, etc…

Come out and join us!

Email Frank Funaro  &  Ed.Zack if you might join us at the Proving Grounds  for the pig-roast and you are not already signed up for the Camp-out and current on the event manifest(roster).  I will also set up the Troop online-registration for the picnic portion of the weekend-event on our Troop website.

  • BBQ Pork Sandwiches
  • Fresh-cut French Fries
  • Coleslaw
  • Fruit Salad
  • Mac & Cheese

Jacque Schultz needs our help  tomorrow for Cub Fun Day. It will take place in South Park at Circleview, Maryland and Vista Groves which is off of Stolz Rd. Set up starts at 7AM and should end around 4PM.  Parking is limited. It was recommended that we park cars at Skating rink and shuttle our people up to the location.
